On January 7, 2025 the fire began on a hillside, east of Altadena and Midwick Drive, in Altadena, California. While the official cause of the fire has not been released, initial reporting suggests Southern California Edison (“SCE”) may have had a role in the fire’s origin. SCE does not appear to directly deny it played a part in the Eaton Fire, and it has been asked to preserve evidence related to the electrical infrastructure where the fire began.
As this is an active fire, our firm is providing resources and industry knowledge to those affected by the Eaton Fire, and we are prepared to litigate against SCE, and win. We are here to guide you through this process.
Our Team
Our Firm
We are a leading Southern California fire litigation firm, with over 20 years of experience fighting against utility companies that negligently start fires. Unlike other firms, we are not personal injury lawyers who do wildfire litigation on the side. This is our main area of practice. We do not follow a class-action model but instead we represent each person individually, to ensure they receive the money they are owed.
Our lawyers have successfully represented thousands of fire victims throughout California, in the biggest fire cases in California history, including through PG&E’s bankruptcy. We know the tactics employed by utility companies and excel in providing customer service to ensure our clients are taken care of and are informed of the process. While many firms claim they are fire lawyers, few can match our experience, and even less provide our level of customer satisfaction.

DAMAGES
In a case against a utility company, generally the insurance industry will seek to recover from the utility company what they’ve paid out to you. Our case seeks to recover the difference between what you’ve been paid (if anything), and what you are owed.
Personal Contents Damages
Our Eaton Fire attorneys can help you to create an inventory of your personal property or even expand upon the inventory you’ve created for your insurer. Importantly, we can help you to recover those items not covered by insurance – classic cars, artwork, jewelry, cherished possessions, and other collectibles. We invest in telling your story, and no case is the same.
Real Property Damages
Our experienced Eaton Fire lawyers will analyze and review your real property and maximize your recovery against SCE. We develop the cost to rebuild and restore your property. We look at every angle and make sure no damages are left on the table. Real property damages can include: landscape damages, hardscape damages, debris removal, and land stabilization. Even if you had insurance, it is likely that the coverage will not adequately help you recover – our case can close that gap.
Even if you have sold, or intend to sell your property, you may be entitled to compensation. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible for a consultation and analysis.
Renter Damages
Renters need help and can recover for their losses in the Eaton Fire lawsuit, where personal contents were damaged or destroyed, or uninsured expenses were incurred. If you did not own real property or have insurance, you absolutely have a claim for recovery. We encourage you to contact us for a meeting to discuss your potential case against SCE.
Evacuation and Out-of-Pocket Costs
Evacuees may be entitled to compensation for their expenses actually incurred, as well as for smoke and particulate damage to their property. Where a mountainous region burns, such as along the hillside above Altadena, the level of particulate damage to a property (insulation, ducts, hardscape), can be substantial.
Emotional Harm
In the Eaton Fire Lawsuit, the scale of the tragedy is overwhelming. We will develop your story of loss, from your evacuation to where you currently are. The stories of emotional distress and losing the enjoyment of your property and lifestyle are important. We invest ourselves in understanding our clients and telling their story – and demanding the utility company be held responsible.
Mudslides and Erosion
In our experience, we have seen mountainous regions experience mudflows after a devastating fire. This is potentially an issue above Altadena, where the fire started. Should these damages arise, we will absolutely seek to recover these damages against SCE.
Injury and Wrongful Death
Tragically, the Eaton Fire killed loved ones and injured countless people as they evacuated from the fire. It is critical that the defendant be held accountable and you be properly compensated for going through such an immense loss.
